The Chiropractor and Disease

Chiropractor'sThought for the Week: I am often asked if chiropractic can help with a certain condition. For example, allergies. My reply is that the nerves is the neck control the function of the sinuses. If one of the bones in the neck is out of alignment (subluxated), placing pressure on the nerves to the sinuses, the sinuses cannot function as well as they should. This would make a person more susceptible to allergy attacks because the sinuses cannot drain as well. I then go on to say that chiropractic would not be treating the allergies, but it would be improving the function of the sinuses which then can offer some relief to allergy suffers. You can now apply this example to any other system and organ in the body. Digestive problems, blood pressure issues, skin disorders, menstrual difficulties, frequent colds and illnesses and much more. The example works for all conditions. Chiropractic is not a treatment for specific diseases or illnesses. Chiropractic is a way of improving function in the body by releasing pressure on the nervous system which controls every single system in the body. Chiropractic is not a treatment for a disease, but it has benefit to anyone who has a condition where their body is not as healthy as it should be.
