Eggs shown not to raise cholesterol levels

The dangers of artificial sweeteners continues to grow.  New research has found a link between artificial and sugar sweetened beverages to atrial fibrillation (AFib).  AFib is an abnormal and often rapid heartbeat.  Artificial sweeteners increased AFib symptoms at a higher rate than sugar sweetened ( sugar sweetened also increased AFib symptoms).  The lowest AFib symptoms occurred in people who drank all natural fruit juice. Ironically, fruit juice AFib symptoms were higher compared to people who did not rink any sweetened beverages.  Artificial sweeteners can cause DNA damage and also interfere with normal activity in gut bacteria.  Destroying gut bacteria will cause health problems.  In addition, artificial sweeteners trick the body into storing fat and stimulates the appetite, increasing carbohydrate cravings. So, all of those zero calorie drinks are actually contributing to weight gain.  Sugar sweetened beverages are associated with weight gain, obesity, Type 2 diabetes, kidney diseases, tooth decay, cavities and gouty arthritis.  Maybe its time to stick with water for your drinking needs!

 

Aloe Vera plants grow wild in tropical environments.  Aloe vera has been used medicinally and nutritionally for thousands of years. Researchers at the University of California, Riverside, proposed a new RNA-based vaccine they said could provide durable protection for infants against COVID-19 and flu with just one dose. Experts warn the untested technology could lead to breakthrough infections, higher mortality rates and potential brain toxicity in babies.  “The level of foolishness here is unprecedented,” said Brain Hooker, Ph.D., chief scientific officer at Children’s Health Defense organization.  “The immune systems of infants ​​simply cannot tolerate this type of infective agent,” he said.

Whether you like your eggs sunny-side up, hard boiled or scrambled, many hesitate to eat them amid concerns that eggs may raise cholesterol levels and be bad for heart health. However, results from a prospective, controlled trial show that over a four-month period cholesterol levels were similar among people who ate fortified eggs most days of the week compared with those who didn't eat eggs.  More and more research is showing that cholesterol levels may not be the cause of heart disease and “new” causes point to sugar, linoleic fat, processed carbs and seed oil consumption.

Why are Americans ranked unhealthier than citizens of other countries?  According to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, the average American diet consists of excess salt, saturated fat, refined grains, calories from solid fats and added sugars. Americans also eat fewer vegetables, fruits, whole grains, dairy products and healthy oils than recommended.

Watercress is one of the healthiest vegetables in the world.  Watercress contains a variety of vitamins, minerals, and secondary plant compounds. Just 100 grams of the herb would be enough to cover most of the daily requirement of Vitamin C, meaning watercress contains far more Vitamin C than even oranges and lemons, making it the ultimate immune booster.
