Lab work that can save your life. Plus, detox your liver with lemon juice

Certain lab tests are better at predicting disease and measuring overall health than others.  The four most important blood chemistry tests that you should add to your lab work prescription for you annual blood work are the CBC, LDH and C-reactive protein inflammatory.  The complete blood count (CBC) is usually always ordered in lab work. When the results come back from this panel of tests, pay attention to the neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) this measurement is a predictor of overall survival from an illness.  The 2nd test is the chem panel (CMP) as this test assesses organ function and electrolyte status.  Number 3 is the lactase dehydrogenase (LDH) test which measures metabolic function and lastly, # 4 is the C-reactive protein, inflammatory (CRP).  CRP measures overall inflammation in the body which is a marker for disease including cancer. Include these tests with your annual doctor’s visit or if you have a health condition that you are concerned about.  If you are interested in these panels, I can write prescriptions for Labcorp.

Lemons are full of vitamins, antioxidants, and flavonoids that have large variety of medicinal benefits to the human body.  Benefits such antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties.  Lemons are high in vitamin C which helps to lower the risk of cardiovascular disease.  The flavonoids in lemons help reduce hardening of the arteries.  Garlic mixed with lemon juice improved cholesterol levels and helped normalize blood pressure.  Lemons can also protect the liver and are a great detoxifying food.  I personally drink two tablespoons of lemon juice every morning in an 8 oz glass of water.

A-well-a don't you know, about the bird? Well, everybody knows that the bird is the word!  A everybody's heard, about the bird!  Bird, bird, bird, b-bird's the word.  Sorry about my 1963 throwback from the Trashman ("Bird is the Word" was a popular surf music song, from the album Surfin' Bird.  But, I digress.  1 in 8 birds are at the risk of extinction. A net loss of 2.9 billion birds or 29% occurred in the US and Canada since 1970.  The main cause of the loss of birds is industrial agriculture with its use of toxic chemicals. Birds are extremely important to our ecosystem as the control pests, spread seeds and pollinate 5% of plants that humans use for food and medicine.

Exercise has been shown to help normalize blood pressure levels.  But some exercises are better than other for this task.  Recent research has found that isometric exercise is best at helping blood pressure.  Isometric exercise is basically a muscle contracting without movement.  The best isometric exercises you can add to your workout program are wall squats and planks.  Lean your back against a wall and squat down into a half squat and hold your back against the wall.  Do this for sets of 30 seconds.  The same with the basic plank (which is a great core exercise for your back and abs).  Get on the floor and extend your body, holding your torso off the ground while supporting yourself with your toes and forearms,  do sets of 30 seconds. Diet wise, make sure you are eating enough foods high in potassium and magnesium as they are important for blood pressure regulation.

The European Commission has proposed a new regulation banning dental amalgams as of January 2025.  Dental amalgams contain neurotoxic mercury which can cause a whole host of illnesses from mercury poisoning.  Most of these illnesses are never connected to your dental fillings until it has become a major problem.  There are holistic dentists trained in removing this poisonous toxin.  The dentist has to wear gear that makes them look like they are walking into an radioactive explosion, as the mercury gets in the air and can poison the dentist.  Mercury is not banned in the USA as an amalgam despite all the health issues it causes.  If you or your child need a cavity filled, insist on a dentist that uses mercury free fillings.

Chiropractic and overall health.  Chiropractic care is not a treatment for disease, illness or any health condition (other than musculoskeletal related issues).  But one of the biggest benefits of chiropractic care is the effect it can have on the overall health of the body due to its relationship with neural impulse flow.  The brain and the spinal cord control the function of every cell, tissue, organ and organ system in the body.  It is how the body works - the brain sends neural impulses down the spinal cord and out the spinal nerves to every part of the body.  The chiropractic connection to overall health is through the nervous system.  When spinal bones are stuck or fixated they alter the shape of the opening that the spinal nerve comes out of this.  This altered opening then disrupts neural impulse flow which then reduces function in the body to whatever organ or organ system that the nerves control.  This decrease in function then can effect your health and manifest in physical symptoms.  While chiropractic care is not a treatment for those symptoms or health conditions, the spinal adjustment frees up the stuck, fixated spinal bones which allows neural impulse pressure to normalize, restoring function to the effected body systems.  Chiropractic, by virtue of the removal of neural impulse pressure is health care for your entire body.
