Health come from within the body

Health is an expression of bodily function that comes from inside the body to the outside. A very old philosophical term in chiropractic is "Above, down, inside, out." Health starts from above with proper communication from the brain. The brain communication "heads" down the spinal cord and transmits "inside" the body before heading "out" as proper function and health. Proper nervous system function is the basis of chiropractic care. The nervous system controls every cell, tissue, organ and system in the body. To have a chance at health, especially in today's environment of processed foods, toxins stress and environmental hazards, a properly functioning nervous system can be the tipping point between good health and bad. As the chiropractic adage goes, health comes from the inside out, not the outside in. Chiropractic spinal adjustments improve nerve flow and communication to the body's organs and systems by opening up the spaces between the spinal bones, improving neural impulse flow. Chiropractic works from the inside out!

Here is a hypothetical example on how nervous system function relates to pregnancy and the developing unborn child. The autonomic nerve roots that control reproductive function (uterine, ovarian, placenta) are located in the lumbar and sacral spine. Spinal misalignments in that area (common in pregnancy as the pregnant women's ever growing abdomen can cause muscular back stress) will lead to pressure on the nerves and can cause a decrease in function to the reproductive organs. Chiropractic adjustments improve the nerve flow making sure the pregnant women and the developing baby are recieving proper nerve impulses, aidinng function and health.
