Fight off Flu with Quercetin. Do you have Long Covid?

The fall season is upon us, so it’s time once again to talk about quercetin.  Quercetin is a natural antihistamine with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antiviral properties.  Quercetin is helpful in boosting heart health, reducing allergy symptoms, supporting liver health and most importantly has a large beneficial affect on immune system function.  Quercetin when taken with the important immune system mineral, zinc helps to push the zinc into your body’s cell membranes which stops viruses from reproducing and spreading.  Natural food sources of quercetin are apples and apple skins, onions, broccoli, cherries, berries and green tea.  I personal take one quercetin capsule daily with 15 mg of zinc to help maintain immune system function.  It is recommended from top medical researchers that you keep quercetin and zinc in your “medicine” cabinet for times when your are not starting to feel well, like coming down with a cold or the flu.  If that happens to me, I double up on my quercetin and zinc dosage until I feel better (which is usually pretty fast due to these supplements).

Apple cider vinegar is a popular fermented food known for its many health boosting benefits.  The acetic acid in the vinegar, which gives it a sour taste has antimicrobial properties.  Apple cider vinegar has many reported health benefits including aiding weight-loss, removing bad breath, helping stop acid reflux, lowering blood sugar, relaxing restless legs and soothing a sore throat (using as a gargle). AC vinegar is also a probiotic.  The best vinegar to use is raw, unfiltered, unprocessed apple cider vinegar.  You will know you have the right one if the vinegar is cloudy and has floating strands of enzyme rich probiotic bacteria called the mother floating in the bottom of the bottle.

According to Jordan Vaughn, founder and president of the Microvascular Research Foundation, symptoms of long covid and symptoms of covid-19 vaccination such as brain fog, muscle weakness, heart attack and stroke may be from microclots throughout the body which coagulate and cause various vascular diseases.  Average diagnostic testing scans cannot detect the microclots and many of the people who are suffering from these types of symptoms are told it is all in their head.  The Microvascular Research Foundation medical doctors have treated over 1500 patients with a triple anticoagulant therapy using aspirin, fibrinolytic enzymes and ivermectin with close to 80% reduction in symptoms.

Pregnancy Info:  One of the worst things about pregnancy is morning sickness.  Nausea and vomiting are not pleasant things.  That being said, there may be some worth to that kind of suffering during pregnancy.  A new study by the National Institute for Health found that morning sickness during early pregnancy may reduce the risk of miscarriage.  In another NIH study of more than 8,000 pregnant women, 73% gained more than the recommended amount of weight. The study found that gaining too much weight during pregnancy can raise the risk for gestational high blood pressure, cesarean section, and larger infants.

October is National Chiropractic Awareness Month.  National Chiropractic Health Month (NCHM) is a nationwide observance held each October. The event helps to raise public awareness of the benefits of chiropractic care and its natural, whole-person, patient-centered and drug-free approach to health and wellness.  It’s important for people to know there are non-drug options for treating chronic pain, and that doctors of chiropractic can collaborate with other providers to help with their medical conditions.  In addition, most people think of chiropractic only as a treatment for neck and back pain, when in reality chiropractic care is total health and wellness care. The connection between the spine and nervous system is paramount for overall health.  Neural impulses from the spinal cord control and co-ordinate the function of every cell, tissue, organ and system in the body. Nerve interference from spinal bone misalignment decreases function, performance and health in the body.  Regular chiropractic spinal check-ups help to prevent this issue.
