Coronavirus and Oxidative Therapy

My research this week has led me to Bio-oxidative therapy.  I talked to a medical doctor in Philadelphia who is doing the treatments on CoVid-19 patients with great success, wiping out the virus in 2-3 days.  Bio-oxidative therapy is the introduction of hydrogen peroxide and ozone into the body.  With ozone, blood samples are taken and infused with medical grade ozone and reintroduced into the body. With peroxide, a weak concentration of medical grade hydrogen peroxide is mixed with saline and given to the patient via I.V. And as I mentioned last week, high dose vitamin C is given through IV.  It turns out another benefit of the vitamin C is that  once in the body the C generates production of hydrogen peroxide and then has an oxidative effect (creates oxygen in the body).  Bio-oxidative therapy was used with great success in treating Ebola virus in Africa.  The pioneer of ozone therapy is Dr. Robert Rowan, graduate of Johns Hopkins University and UC San Francisco Medical School. Dr. Rowan went to Africa and was treating Ebola patients and teaching medical professionals how to use ozone therapy.  Bio-oxidative therapy stimulates white blood cell production, is anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. In addition, oxidative therapy has been shown to decrease the size of cancer cells and increases the production of interferon, which helps fight infections and cancer.  More and more doctors who practice integrative and functional medicine are offering these services.  A quick google search found that there were 9 doctors in New Jersey (closest Manahawkin) and numerous in Philadelphia.

The question that begs answering is if this treatment is successful for killing viruses, why are we not hearing more about it?  First, it’s not mainstream medicine.  And as a “alternative” health care practitioner, I know how difficult it is to exist in the mainstream medical world. Second and unfortunately, based on what I read about the Ebola virus, it comes down to money.  Dr. Rowan, even with his success treating the virus, was asked to stop treating patients and teaching doctors how to perform ozone therapy.  The reason being is that a major vaccine was being developed by a pharmaceutical company working with the government.  Ozone therapy cannot be patented by drug companies, or anyone for that matter and a single ozone treatment in Africa basically had a cost of  $2.50.  So not a lot of money to be made on developing ozone therapy in Africa, unless the government was purchasing all of your vaccines.  My research shows that doctors in the USA charge as little as $100 per IV Ozone session.  Some doctors charge much more, depending on the location of their practice (NYC as opposed to a small town).

Next-up, mask time.  With the new CDC suggestion that everyone wear a mask when in public (grocery stores, pharmacy etc), it is important to understand their reasoning.  It turns out that people can have CoVid-19 and not have any symptoms what-so-ever.  Great for them, but bad for people who come in contact with their spittle.  The masks that the CDC would like you to wear do not protect you from getting the virus.  They protect others from you spreading germs via your mouth (air spittle from coughing or sneezing).  As, you will learn in the video listed above, a good side effect of wearing a mask is that it prevents you from touching your mouth with your hands, which Doctor Price says is the main method of coronavirus transmission.  Is a medical mask necessary?  No, not really.  Anything you want to use to cover your mouth is helpful according to CDC (Bandana, scarf, etc.). I also want to reiterate that in a normal flu type season where the flu virus gradually spreads, mask wearing is not typically necessary. Its reasons now are to slow the sudden spread of the virus as to not inundate hospitals with a large influx of patients at one time, which does not happen during a flu season.

What are the most important things you can and should be doing during this active stage of viral spread?  Wash your hands constantly and don’t touch your face if your hands are not washed.  If you are out in public and you touch things (shopping cart, door handles, merchandise),  do not touch your face until you wash your hands or use hand sanitizer. The hands have to be kept clean.  Remember to take your 1000-3000 mg of vitamin C daily. Take your Vitamin D3 with K daily (35 units per pound of bodyweight).  Take 1 tablespoon of Elderberry daily, more if you like.  Make sure to get exercise at least 30-40 minutes a day (get up and move, walking is exercise!).  Go to bed and get a good night sleep 7-9 hrs.  See your chiropractor for weekly spinal adjustments to improve bodily function with enhanced neural impulse flow.

Lastly, I have added a new recommendation to my list to help you keep your lungs strong.  Deep breathing exercises. On a daily basis, sit down in a chair with your hands on your lap. Breath in deeply as far as you can through your nose, hold for one second and breathe out through your mouth until you lungs are completely healthy. Repeat 10 times. Rest and breathe normally for 20-30 seconds and then repeat with another 10 deep breaths. Perform three to five sets of ten deep breathes. Once finished sit and relax for a minute or two before standing (to avoid lightheadedness).  For the spiritual and meditative among us, in between breaths you can say short prayers or positive affirmations to help you connect your mind, body and spirit.

Pregnancy and Chiropractic care:  According to Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, pregnant women have increased needs for good pulmonary performance.  Therefore CoVid-19 can be a concern. It is more important now, during pregnancy, women take extra care with good nutrition, vitamin c supplementation, vitamin d supplementation and to see their chiropractor weekly for spinal adjustments. Chiropractic care during pregnancy improves overall body function and health.

Here is your weekly corona virus update.   I found an excellent video by an doctor in New York who is in the hospital treating CoVid-19 patients 12-13 hrs a day.  If you have not seen this video as of yet, it is worth watching. Every minute of its 54 minute length is information gold.  The doctor talks about how this virus is spread, your odds of catching it and what to do if you do get sick.  He dispels a lot of myths and I wonder why he is not on the news every night with his calm, caring demeanor and extremely helpful information.  His name is Dr. David Price from Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York.  You can do a search for him on YouTube and it will take you directly to his videos.  He has done an abbreviated version of his hour long talk and edited down to 10 min. If you have the time, choose the hour long talk.  Here is the link to the abbreviated version for those with time issues or LOL, ADD:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qwx3JMRTz8U .
