Chiropractic and Fever

Chiropractic care and fever reductions:  How does chiropractic care work with patients who have a fever?  Chiropractic care helps the nervous system perform better.  The nervous system is responsible for regulating and controlling every function of the body, including fever response.  Typically, a patient will present to the chiropractor with a fever and receive a spinal adjustment (not to treat the fever, chiropractors do not treat illness).  Post spinal adjustment the fever usually increases a degree for an hour or so and then the fever reduces to a lower level.  The reason being is that the nervous system’s autonomic control becomes fine-tuned and is more efficient.  The increase in immune system function provided by the improved neural impulses helps your body to fight off the infection.
