Tripledemic Hype, Plus Largest Study on Mask Wearing Conducted

Quercetin is an extremely powerful immune system booster and has broad spectrum anti-viral properties.  Quercetin also inhibits immune system pro-inflammatory chemicals called cytokines.  This is very beneficial in severe cases of covid-19 as deadly covid is related to cytokine storm activity.  Quercetin research is plentiful and shows that quercetin intake has an important role in prevention and treatment of the flu and upper respiratory tract infections.

Tripledemic. Hype or serious problem?   The news is constantly reporting on how covid cases, flu and RSV are in circulation.  In addition, as with covid pandemic they are reporting on an increase in hospitalizations.  Here are the facts.  Tripledemic, doubledemic or singledemic, if you are immune compromised and have other preexisting health conditions you are more susceptible to viral infections. That is the bottom line.  According to influenza researcher virologist Richard Webby at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, flu and other respiratory viruses and Sars -Covid do not get along very well together.  One virus tends to bully the other viruses and it is highly unlikely that they will circulate widely at the same time, according to epidemiologist Ben Cowling at the University of Hong Kong Medical and School of Public Health.  Again, as with covid and flu season, take care of yourself.  Supplementation with vitamin D3, quercetin, zinc and elderberry will go along way with boosting your immune system and offering you protection from severe cases of viral infection.

Don’t forget chiropractic this flu season.  Chiropractic adjustments, due to the freeing up of spinal nerve pressure and improving neural impulse flow, helps to boost immune system function.  Statistically, patients under regular chiropractic care are heathier, have less incidence of illness and less days of missed work due to illness.  This applies to children as well.

The largest study on wearing face masks for virus prevention was published on November 18th 2022.  The “Danmask-19 trial” was published in the Annals of Internal Medicine and had 6000 participants.  The study found wearing a face mask made no significant difference concerning the contraction and or protection of viral spread.  2% of study participants that wore the mask contracted the covid-19 virus while 2.1% of the people in the study who were not in the mask wearing group contracted the covid-19 virus.  As far as other non-covid viruses were concerned, 0.5% in the mask group and 0.6% in non-mask group tested positive for one or more respiratory viruses.

Pregnancy Prenatal Chiropractic Care Info:  A low-cost, prenatal intervention benefits mothers' mental health up to eight years later, a new UC San Francisco study finds.  The eight-week class intervention, led by Elissa Epel, PhD, UCSF professor of psychiatry and her team, involved groups of eight to 10 pregnant women who met for two hours a week to practice mindfulness-based stress reduction exercises, focusing especially on mindful eating, breathing and movement. Chiropractic care during pregnancy, due to the influence on spinal nerve pressure, helps reduce stress and balances body chemistry (which includes hormones related to anxiety, stress and depression). Pregnancy wellness care should include meditation, chiropractic care, stress reduction techniques, exercise and massage.
