Too Much Sugar Equals Poor Health. Problems with Wet Wipes

Wet wipes (unless organic) have chemicals that can break down the top layer of skin, which then allows the chemicals to be absorbed into the body.  This has been shown to cause allergic reactions in children.  Recent research suggests that routine use of wet wipes is a significant contributor to the rise is childhood food allergies.  Non flushable Wet wipes or flushing more than two at time flushable wipes are also to blame for clogging up sewer lines and costing townships millions of dollars every year.  To clean a your baby, mild soap and lukewarm water with a soft cloth are all that’s needed.  If you are using wet wipes, after cleaning your baby wash the area with water to remove any wet wipe chemical residue. Wet wipe use for babies, children and adults should always be organic or chemical free wipes.

The amino acid glycine has been shown to extend lifespan in animal studies and help with chronic disease.  Glycine has anti-cancer properties, reduces insulin and helps fight inflammation.  For optimal benefit, glycine should be taken daily ( 12 grams).  Glycine comes in powder form and has a pleasant, mildly sweet taste and some use it as a sugar substitute.

Speaking of sugar, most people are consuming a unhealthy amount of sugar. Sugar is obviously in sweets and soft drinks, but it is also hidden in most processed foods.  Researchers found that eating a high fat , high sugar snacks changes the brains encoded neural response so that you will prefer high fat, high sugar foods as opposed to low fat and low sugar ones.  Data shows that a bingeing on a sugar can slow brain function, memory and learning.

Continuing on with the topic of sweeteners, animal research shows that all artificial sweeteners approved by the FDA cause DNA damage and interfere with normal and healthy gut bacteria.  The artificial sweeteners in the study include aspartame (Nutrasweet), sucralose, saccharin, neotame, advantame and acesulfame.  Saccharin caused the greatest damage in the body (it was very toxic to cells in the body). Aspartame and acesulfame both caused DNA damage and disrupted the body’s metabolism. In general, all artificial sweeteners have been shown to be neurotoxins / excitotoxins which adversely affect the nervous system in the body and can lead to a host of physical ailments.

Back pain and chiropractic: One of the most common problems that affect our health is back pain. As much as 80% of the US population has experienced back pain at one point during their lives.  Most of the time the problem is caused by poor posture, repetitive movements and improper lifting habits.  Less common causes include hurting yourself via an accident like a slip and fall or an auto accident.  A visit to the medical doctor (the second most common reason for doctor visits) usually results in a prescription of medication and or bed rest.  Most people do not want to take drugs and are looking to avoid the unhealthy side-effects that comes with taking medications.  The following is a list of the top back / neck pain all-natural treatments that have been proven to be the most effective at eliminating the pain and correcting the underlying problem.  Naturally, chiropractic care tops the list.  A study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine found that chiropractic care was often more successful at eliminating muscular pain than medication.  More importantly, chiropractic’s major benefit is that not only can it reduce pain levels, but the care given is designed to actually correct spinal structural problems that can cause back pain.  Not to mention the fact that chiropractic care is also used for spinal hygiene to prevent back problems from occurring.  In addition, chiropractic cares effect on overall health by reducing spinal nerve stress has been well documented.

Pregnancy Prenatal Chiropractic Care Info:  New research out of the University of Cincinnati examines the impact that maternal stress during pregnancy has on the neurodevelopment of babies.  The research examines five separate categories of stress that expectant moms face during pregnancy. They are financial stress, conflict with a partner, conflict with a family member or friend, abuse (including physical, emotional and mental) and death of a friend or relative, plus a cumulative score that combines all the categories.  Researcher found DNA changes that occurred during pregnancy in the babies umbilical cord. It is unclear how this affects the babies life and further research is being developed to understand the effects.  As always, it is important for overall health to lower stress levels in one’s life.

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that stimulates the body's natural healing process. It can relieve pain and promote healing of injured tendons, ligaments, and other soft tissues. It accomplishes this by releasing growth factors in the injured tissue. The majority of patients who use this treatment have enjoyed results. In clinical studies, about 91% of patients reported successful results, including a decrease in chronic pain, increase in mobility, and other health improvements. Shockwave treatment lasts approximately 5-10 minutes.   Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive, out-patient alternative to surgery for those with many joint and tendon disorders. Shock wave therapy sends acoustic shock waves into bone or soft tissue, in effect targeting the area on a cellular level and breaking up the scarring that has penetrated tendons and ligaments.
