• Neurological Impulse Flow: Science and Belief System

Why are most doctors of chiropractic so different from other doctors in the various health care fields?  The answer has to do with beliefs. Chiropractic care is a proven, well researched science that uses technical skills to improve function and health in the body. The same as all of the other health care fields. Surgeons, dentists, podiatrists, acupuncturists and massage therapists all have set skills that work within their scientifically proven professions.  Chiropractic is not just a method of adjusting spines and correcting subluxations and extremity fixations. It is much more. What sets chiropractic apart and distinguishes it as a separate, unique and distinct health care profession is its beliefs about the human body and the natural order of the universe in which we live in.  All living things have an inborn, instinctual or Innate Intelligence which adapts to its environment. Every living thing has the inborn Intelligence it requires to maintain its life and optimal health. Health is the expression of this Intelligence through the body via energy also known as neurological impulse flow. When there is interference with the flow or transmission of neural energy, the result is a decrease in the expression of the body's natural intelligence.  Chiropractors call this dis-ease, which means lack of ease in the body.  When neural flow is disrupted, lack of ease causes the body not to function properly. The chiropractors main objective is to restore neural flow to the body, promoting ease and restoring function. These beliefs are extremely important to the chiropractic profession, by not only demonstrating our uniqueness in society, but allowing patients to see chiropractic's value as having an extremely important role in the overall health of the human body.
