Mercury Dental Fillings - Bad. Covid-19 update, Pregnancy Prenatal Care Info

There are a lot of awareness days and weeks in the United States.  For instance we have serious events like Childhood Cancer Awareness Week, Movember for prostate cancer awareness and Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  We also have light hearted events like National Punctuation Day, National Pancake Day and my favorite…Beer Day.  That being said there is one awareness week that not many people are aware of.  Every September there is a week that celebrates Mercury Awareness and Mercury Free Dentistry.

In 2018, Consumers for Dental Choice convinced the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to break its silence and to recommend against amalgam use for well over 100,000,000 Americans.  The FDA specifically, since September 2020, recommends against dental amalgam for children or women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant in the future, or anyone who has a sensitivity to mercury, have kidney problems or neurological disease, as it poses a risk to their health.

Consumers for Dental Choice founded the World Alliance for Mercury-Free Dentistry, a coalition of nonprofit groups from all over the world dedicated to ending the use of amalgam worldwide. The World Alliance had spectacular success in Europe. In 2020, the European Commission recommended that the European Parliament and European Council phase out all amalgam use in the 27-nation European Union. Italy has already begun a full phase-out of amalgam.

Dental amalgam is a tooth filling material that is approximately 50% mercury, a highly polluting neurotoxin.  Today, countries around the world are phasing out the use of amalgam … and phasing up the use of mercury-free alternatives.

Several dentists who use mercury fillings in their practices acknowledged to WebMD that they know some mercury vapor does escape from filled teeth during simple everyday activities such as eating, drinking hot beverages, and brushing your teeth, but say they don't usually talk to patients about it because they don't believe the small amounts that escape are harmful.

A number of "mercury-free" dentists feel quite differently.   Studies show that people with silver fillings have an average of four times the amount of mercury in their blood and  urine than people who have no fillings or nonsilver fillings.  The inhalation of mercury vapor can produce harmful effects on the nervous, digestive and immune systems, lungs and kidneys.  Symptoms of mercury exposure include:  Vision, speech, hearing and walking impairment · Numbness in hands, feet and sometimes around the mouth · Uncoordinated movement · Muscle weakness · Skin rashes.  The inhalation of elemental mercury vapors can cause neurological and behavioral disorders, such as tremors, emotional instability, insomnia, memory loss.

The bottom line is that if you or your child have a cavity, it is vital to make sure that the amalgams used do not contain mercury.  In addition, if you do feel that mercury is effecting your health, you need to find a holistic dentist who is trained and has the proper equipment and protection for you to remove the mercury filling from your mouth.  Not all dentists have the specialized equipment for these procedure.

Happy Birthday to Chiropractic‼  September 18th 1895, 126 years ago chiropractic was founded in Davenport, Iowa by D.D Palmer who realigned a cervical (neck) vertebra and restored the hearing to Harvey Lillard, a janitor who was death for 18 years.  From that day forward, the principles of chiropractic were developed and eventually science confirmed that spinal nerve pressure can effect and influence the function and health of the human body.  The main premise of chiropractic health care is increasing human performance, improving bodily function and maintaining health.

Pregnancy / Prenatal Chiropractic Care:  Women exposed to high levels of the chemicals used as water and oil repellants such as coatings for cookware, carpets and other textiles are at risk for health issues that can effect pregnancy outcomes and reproductive health. These chemicals are neurotoxins that have been shown to disrupt the hormonal system.  A recent study found that women are 20% more likely to discontinue breast feeding due to an accumulation of these chemicals in the body.  The conclusion is that the disruption of the hormonal system, which is charge of breast milk production becomes more difficult in the presence of these chemicals.  Prenatal health care suggestions during pregnancy would be to use cookware that is not non-stick (like ceramic or cast iron or stainless steel) and avoid purchasing new carpets or flooring during pregnancy.

Covid-19 Update:  A new study published in the journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism on July 27th 2021, found that vitamin D3 has shown that the vitamin’s metabolites can inhibit replication and expansion of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.  Researchers on this study say their findings help explain a possible mechanism for why low vitamin D levels seem to promote COVID-19 infection and poor outcome in certain individuals. This correlates to other studies showing a relationship between vitamin D deficiency and poor disease outcomes.  In September 2020, Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said he believed that vitamin D could help fight COVID, although he didn’t elaborate at the time on how he knew that to be true.  Successful hospital treatments in progressive hospitals around the country include a high dose of vitamin D3 for Covid-19 treatment.  It is recommended to have D3 levels checked and even if the levels are normal, to supplement with vitamin D3 on a daily basis when not getting adequate sun exposure. Many medical researchers suggest taking 35 units of D3 per pound of bodyweight in the winter time to maintain adequate D3 levels.

Atlantic County, NJ and Covid-19:  Atlantic County has 1,622 new cases of Covid-19 over the last two week period, up from 1,496 cases the prior 2 weeks. Our 7 day average cases reported per day is 123 cases per day. Atlantic County has had 12 deaths in the last two week period, down from 13 the prior two week period.    On 9/18/2021, there were a total of 1,137 people admitted in all of New Jersey’s hospitals for care of Covid-19 infections, up from 1,070 a week ago.  In the USA, 383 million doses of the vaccine have been given out.  180 million people are fully vaccinated. 42 million people have contracted the Covid-19 virus in the USA.

Vaccine Informed Consent Information:   Informed consent means that the person to be vaccinated has to be informed about all the risks, the risk benefit ratios, the potential dangers and what is known about side effects. For example, informed consent takes place in all drug advertising.  The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has awarded one-year supplemental grants totaling $1.67 million to five institutions to explore potential links between COVID vaccines and menstrual changes, after thousands of women reported menstrual irregularities after vaccination. Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System data released 9/10/21 by the CDC showed a total of 675,593 (up 75,000 from last week) reports of adverse reactions from all age groups following COVID vaccines, including 14,506 deaths (up 879). Serious injuries increased by 3,705 this week to a total of 88,171 between Dec. 14, 2020 and September 10, 2021. According to the CDC, as of September 10th 2021,   This week’s data for 12- to 17-year-olds show 19,015 total adverse events, including 1,132 rated as serious and 19 reported deaths among 12- to 17-year-olds.  2,810 cases of anaphylaxis, 469 reports of myocarditis and 101 reports of blood clotting disorders in the 12-17 year old age group. This week’s data for pregnancy /prenatal vaccination shows pregnant women had 3,558 adverse events reported including 1,042 reports of miscarriage or premature birth.  VAERS is the primary government-funded system for reporting adverse vaccine reactions in the U.S. Reports submitted to VAERS require further investigation before a causal relationship can be confirmed. The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) database contains information on unverified reports of adverse events following immunization. Reports are accepted from anyone and can be submitted electronically.
