Infantile Colic, Breast Feeding difficulties and Failure to Thrive

Infantile Colic is prolonged fussiness and periods of intense crying that may be caused by a digestive system that is not fully developed.  Colic is very frustrating for new parents as the sleepless nights with bouts of crying can wear down the toughest of people.

Chiropractors have great success with colic patients as the gentle, low force adjustments to the spine balance the baby's nervous system, relaxing the child and stopping the crying.  Adjustments to the baby's spine involve gentle pressure and tapping over the spinal segments, relaxing muscles and freeing the nerves to send the proper amount of neural impulses to the baby.

Nervous system stress is also a cause of failure to thrive.  Most new infants after chiropractic care tend to feed more often and of greater duration allowing the natural gain of weight.

In addition, breast feeding issues, like latching are usually due to nerve pressure in the baby's neck and neck muscle tension.  Chiropractic care works wonders for correcting the muscle imbalances and improving nerve flow.

A healthy newborn child begins with pregnancy care of the mother to be.  Pregnant women under the chiropractors care typically become educated about the importance of the infant's first adjustment and the incredible benefits of chiropractic health care. Pregnancy care is vital for a healthy, more comfortable pregnancy.
