Chiropractor discusses the spinal adjustment

Chiropractor’s Thought for the Week: For the chiropractor to do his job and help your body to heal, a lot has to happen. First, the chiropractor has to analysis the spine for alignment, checking for subluxated vertebra. The chiropractor does this with a variety of methods. Personally, I use a combination of palpation, motion palpation, leg check analysis, reflex testing and occipital drop analysis.  Once the chiropractor completes his analysis, he or she is certain which vertebra are out of alignment and the direction that they have subluxated. Once that is done, the chiropractor can deliver the spinal adjustment.  It’s not just random “cracking’ of the spine. It’s a specific force in a specific direction to a specific location. Once completed, the chiropractor has given your body its best chance to heal.
