• Chiropractor discusses the Flu Shot and how to avoid the Flu naturally

Chiropractors Thought for the Week:  Are you thinking of getting the flu shot this year?  Here are the latest flu shot statistics.  At the end of 2015, a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) analysis revealed that, between 2005 and 2015, the influenza vaccine was less than 50 percent effective more than half of the time. During the 2015/2016 flu season, FluMist, the live virus nasal spray, had a failure rate of 97 percent. The CDC did not recommend it last year and still recommends against using it during the 2017 to 2018 flu season. Shoulder injuries related to vaccine administration, which includes chronic pain, limited range of motion, nerve damage and frozen shoulder, are typically the result of the injection being administered too high on the arm. The 2016 to 2017 flu vaccine, which was very well-matched to circulating viral strains and hailed as “one of the most effective in years,” did not live up to its expectations. The vaccine had no clear effect in those between the ages of 18 and 49. Ditto for the elderly. Among young children, the effectiveness was about 60 percent. In other age groups, the effectiveness topped out at 42 percent.


Here is the all- natural chiropractor strategy for avoiding the flu. Take 35 units of Vitamin D3 per pound of body weight with one capsule of vitamin k.  I take 8000 units a day, my kids take 2000. Vitamin D3 is the sunshine vitamin and the main reason why there is not a flu season in the summer months.  Have your spine adjusted regularly by your chiropractor.  Chiropractic care on a regular basis has been scientifically proven to enhance immune system function. When the chiropractor gives an adjustment, 3 things happen. The rate of DNA repair in your body increases, white blood cell production is amplified and there is a boost in resistance enzymes in the body.  All 3 of those things are important markers in immune system function.  At the first sign of starting to feel like a cold or illness is coming on, take vitamin C multiple times per day. At least 3000-4000 mg 3-4 times per day. Take 6-10 drops of oregano oil in a glass of water (if you are not allergic to oregano oil) and drink 3 times a day. Oregano oil and vitamin C have huge anti-viral properties. Make your own chicken broth. Buy some organic chicken with bone (whole or pieces) and boil and simmer on the stove for a few hours, put garlic gloves in the liquid while it is boiling.  Add some veggies in the last 30 -40 minutes of cooking. Fresh chicken broth / soup is very beneficial to warding of the cold or the flu. The broth is full of immune system enhancing nutrients.
