Chiropractor Thought for the Week:  As a chiropractor with 30 years experience, it can be safely written that in my humble opinion, chiropractic is the leading, all-natural, drug free health profession in the United States. Not surprisingly, chiropractors have earned the reputation as pain specialists in the area of back, neck and extremity pain. As far as structure goes, misaligned, fixated spinal joints cause muscle imbalances that lead to inflammation, restriction of motion and pain. Since the chiropractor corrects this condition using spinal adjustments (without drugs), the chiropractor achieves excellent results and patient satisfaction for relieving pain.  As far as health goes, the chiropractor plays an important part in helping the body achieve, maintain and preserve health. The same spinal structure that misaligns and causes pain also irritates autonomic spinal nerves. These nerve roots are the nerves that control function to all the systems, organs, cells and tissues in the body. If the nerve impulse flow is impeded by spinal subluxation, a loss in function and health is the result. The chiropractor restores this delicate balance to the body, improving overall health.
