Chiropractic analysis of the spine

For the chiropractor to do his job and help your body to heal, a lot has to happen. First, the chiropractor has to analyze the spine for alignment, checking for subluxated vertebra. The chiropractor does this with a variety of methods. Many chiropractors use a combination of palpation, motion palpation, leg check analysis, reflex testing and occipital drop analysis.  In stubborn cases, x-ray analysis may be warranted.  Once the analysis is complete, the spinal misalignment and or fixation is located.  The chiropractor can then deliver the spinal adjustment.  It is important to note that it is not just a random “cracking’ of the spine. It is a specific force in a specific direction to a specific location. Once that is complete, the chiropractor has given your body its best chance to heal.

During chiropractic pregnancy care the analysis focuses on pelvic alignment and round ligament tension. In pregnancy, it is very common for the pelvic bones to fixate. This can cause tension on the rund ligament which will lead to uterine constraint, possible preventing the baby from turning to the head down position. Chiropractic analysis during pregnancy is extremely helpful to the pregnant women.
