Dear Subluxation Based Doctors:

Its funny, the longer I am practicing in Ireland (5 months now), the more I am refining my practice style.  You would think after 15 years in practice I would have it right by now.  I guess that is why they call it practice.

I am becoming more truthful.  What does that mean?  In the past, I never said directly what I meant.  I smoothed everything over with whitewash or I took the long way around.  Now, don't get me wrong.  I regularly spoke chiropractic, I never sacrificed my principles and ethics.  But, now, it seems I am much more direct.  I tell it like it is and lay the cards on the table.  For instance, I ask new practice members pointed questions that require direct answers.  "Your spine is subluxated, these are your problem areas, do you want this condition corrected?",  "To correct your spine, it is going to take a commitment on your part of time and money, are you willing to commit to our program?"  "It is mandatory for you to come to our health workshop, If you do not attend, I cannot commit to taking care of you, what day can you come?"  By being pointed and direct and naturally giving people a chance to decide if my type of chiropractic care is for them, I am building my practice with the type of people that I want to take care of.

You're probably saying "If you have a large enough practice base you can afford to be choosey."   Well, don't forget I just started in Ireland from scratch, with zero practice members and now I am building a practice where people are committing to long term care.  So, my point is, be direct, speak your mind, come from a position of caring and serving, but don't be afraid to say what your service is and what kind of clients you will accept.

WCA Report:  The Summit meeting in Washington DC was monumental.  By now all of you are aware of the Bill that Congressman Manzullo is introducing, the bill drafted by the Congressman with the WCA will redefine chiropractic from the Medicare perspective, which will impact the entire profession and the insurance industry's idea of chiropractic.  For the full information go to www.wcanews.com and read the article.

Over 100 visits were made to congressman and senators by WCA representatives discussing Subluxation based chiropractic and Congressman Manzullo's bill.   Subluxation based chiropractic and the WCA made a huge impression once again in DC.  Thanks to our Lobbyist, Jim Albertine who is one of the top lobbyists in DC.

A very productive meeting was also held with the ICA and the FSCO at the WCA board meeting.  The Coalition of Chiropractic made some major inroads in discussions concerning the CCE and education in general.

Quote of the Month:   When discussing why it is important to not focus on symptoms with your clients, mention this quote:  "The mind is everything, what you think, you become."---Buddha

If you haven't read my book yet, here it is again:
The book,  The Working Chiropractor's 4-Part Course, Build a Booming Practice in 24 Easy Steps, is actually a step by step course on patient education and practice marketing.  Most of the marketing programs are designed for internal referrals and they require almost no expense to put into motion.  There are also external marketing programs that can be implemented for little or no money.  All are ethical and practical, NO SELLING.

The Working Chiropractor's 4-Part Course, Build a Booming Practice in 24 Easy Steps was reviewed in the January 2003 issue of the Chiropractic Journal and is featured as the main interview on the January 2003 ON PURPOSE philosophy CD from the Chiropractic Leadership Alliance.

Over my past 15 years in practice, I have purchased many "courses" form many different experts in our profession for hundreds of dollars and most have collected dust.  I honestly feel that this easy and fun to read "book" can and will help any chiropractor who reads it.

Included in the book fee is also a monthly e-mail newsletter with philosophy, practice tips and politics.

The book is priced at $59.00 plus shipping and handling.  Mastercard and Visa excepted as well as personal check.

You may call my office at 609-266-4749 to order.  Eastern Time.

Thank you for your interest.
