Dr. J's Opinion: The word vital is an important word, dare I say it is a vital word. The word vital implies essential and necessary. Two words that describe the nervous system's impact on health. The brain, spinal cord and spinal nerves control and co-ordinate all of the vital functions of the human body. The heart, the lungs, your kidneys and bladder, the digestive system, the immune system and the lymphatic system are all under the direct control of your brain, spinal cord and spinal nerves. Every single cell, tissue, organ and system in the body is regulated by nervous system control. The brain has to communicate with all of the body for the body to be healthy. The brain communicates by sending nerve impulses through the spinal cord and the spinal nerves to all of the various and vital parts of our body. If there is a disruption in nerve flow, the body cannot function at its best and then it is not healthy. All of this makes perfect sense, right? No one wants to have disruption in nerve flow, no one wants to not function at their best and certainly no one wants to not be healthy. So, it makes perfect sense to ensure that there is not a disruption in nerve flow. When the spinal bone subluxates due to a physical, chemical or emotional stress there is a disruption in nerve flow. It is vitally important to have your spine checked on a regular basis to have the subluxations adjusted and the nerve flow improved so that you and your family can be at their very best. This is what chiropractic care is all about.

Movie Review: Catch Me If You Can starring Tom Hanks and that Leo fellow. I thought this movie was very good and it became even better when I found out it is based on a true story. Chicago. If you know me, you are wondering why I went to a musical. I am not very fond of muscials. Typically the movie would be much better without all that singing. Everybody seemed to like Chicago. I think it would have been better with out all of that singing and dancing. It will probably win an Oscar this year, which will backup my standard thought to never see a movie that wins an Oscar.
PUB Review: I went to Doheny & Nesbitts yesterday. This pub has me written all over it. It is a die hard rugby bar, decorated with all rugby jerseys and trophies. I watched the rugby matches their and had a few pints of Guinness. The bartender was very friendly and the food was good. I had two toasted ham & cheese & tomato sandwichs with a side of salt & vinegar crisps. For you yankees out there, I had grilled ham & cheese sandwiches with salt & vinegar potato chips. Afterwards, I stopped at Toners, another Dublin landmark and had one more pint before I walked home. A fun afternoon.
Rugby Report: Italy fielded a tough team and beat the Welsh. I for one, as well as the Welsh, were surpised. England the top ranked team in the world, didn't play as well as they should have and won a tough game against the French team, who happen to always be tough. Ireland plays Scotland today. If I was a betting man, I would put my money on Ireland.
Health Tip Of The Month: New England Journal of Medicine reports that regular use of aspirin or aspirin like pain relievers was associated with increased risk of chronic kidney failure.
Studies have also found that taking aspirin to prevent heart attacks may actually put you more at risk for non-fatal side effects like internal bleeding and cataracts. It has also been suggested that the benefit to taking the aspirin to prevent heart attacks may not come from the aspirin, but actually from the calcium and magnesium that the aspirin is buffered with.
Fishing Report: I am actually going fishing today. I was invited to fish off of a beach. I don't know where and I don't know for what, but I will let you all know how it works out next month.
That's all for this month. I hope you enjoyed this months edition. If you have any question, comments or concerns please do not hesitate to e-mail me back.
Thank you,
Dr. J.
