Dear Practice Members:

My staff and I would like to take the time to wish you a very happy and healthy holiday season.  The holidays are the time to let your family and friends know how much they mean to you and to spread some holiday love and cheer.  ( Why can't it be like that year round? )  I want you to know how much you mean to our practice.  We think of all of our practice members as friends and we consider you to be in our big family of health.  We appreciate that you understand what we as chiropractors try to accomplish with your spinal adjustments.  It is very fulfilling for us to maintain and preserve your health.  And even though we do not get as much joy taking care of you when you have pain, our happiness is doubled when you are finally pain free.  I mean it is much more fun to take care of someone who is not in pain (for you too!) as opposed to someone who is suffering.   I sincerely hope the past year of chiropractic care and for many of you, years of chiropractic care before that, find you healthy, minimally stressed and extremely happy this holiday season.  May there be peace on earth and goodwill towards all people now and forever.-----------Dr. J.

Ireland Report:  The big day is coming up quick.  I must say the closer it gets the more nervous I am about my big adventure.  This is the first time that I have ever just uprooted myself from home and family.  Wait, I just remembered, I did the same thing 20 years ago when I moved to Atlanta for chiropractic school.  It was pretty scary then, now that I think about it.  At least then I was only a short flight home or even a day in the car.  But it all worked out.  What is with this chiropractic and always making me move away?  I just want to let each and everyone of you know that I will miss you while I am in Ireland and it has been my honor to take care of you.  I will continue to write e-mail newsletters from Ireland, so I will keep in touch with you and I look forward to seeing you all when I get back.  Please keep Dr. Skip & Dr. John on their toes.  For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about, there will be a letter from me in the office before I leave, describing the purpose and intent of my Irish mission.

Movie Review:  James Bond was action packed, mindless adventure.  The North Koreans are the enemy this time ( and from what I hear in real life they are not to happy about it ).  The movie was good.  Did I mention Halle Berry in a bikini?  Insomnia with Al Pacino and Robin Williams was very good.  Robin Williams plays a really good psycho.  You have to rent Big Trouble with Tim Allen.  This movie had a ton of great characters and it was funny.  The end with Puddy from Seinfield is hilarious.  Mr. Deeds got a bad rap from critics, but once again it was proven to me that Adam Sandler cannot make a bad movie.  I will be in Star Trek  and Lord of The Rings before the week is out.  I am a big Sci-fi adventure movie nut.

Fishing Report:  I went to Cape May a few time this past month and did really well with the Striper.  I went Friday with the husband, who shall remain nameless, of a women  who works at my front desk in the Smithville office.  The gentlemen in question caught all the fish while I remained fishless for a good seven hours.  He even ate bananas and still caught fish.  I told him, in my depressed mood, that it is not about the fish.  If it was, it wood be called catching not fishing.

Bullies Report:  The AC Bullies Hockey team are in first place with the best record in the league.  You have to go to the games.  It is the best value family entertainment in town.  The sad thing is we have almost the worst attendance record in the league.  The Bullies need support, especially if you want them to stick around.  People complain that there is nothing to do in AC, well here is a fun time for everyone.  I brought my mother to a game, she never saw hockey in her life and she liked it.  Give it a try.

Health News:  Latest on Fluoridation

Chemicals commonly used to fluoridate drinking water may increase rather than decrease tooth decay, according to a study published in a U.S. government journal, "Environmental Health Perspectives."(1)

Children studied in fluoridated Boston/Cambridge, Massachusetts, have significantly more tooth decay than children living in non-fluoridated Farmington, Maine, report researchers Gemmel et al., contrary to American Dental Association assertions that fluoridation reduces tooth decay from 40-59%. (2)

Ironically, the intended decay-preventative fluoride chemicals, silicofluorides, added to Boston/Cambridge water supply are linked to higher blood lead levels. And lead is linked to cavities in Gemmel's study and several others.
