Dear Practice Members:
Chiropractic care is a philosophy of life. The primary focus of chiropractic care is not the "relief" of pain, but the expression of life. Optimal bodily function, increased performance of every aspect of daily life and the nuturing of health are the benefits of a nervous system clear from spinal stress. Unfortunately, the perception of chiropractic is one of back & neck pain. This comes from the fact that when chiropractors perform their adjustments to allow the body's innate intelligence to express itself, there is a direct effect on the spinal musculature. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as balanced musculature is an aspect of increased performance and function. But, to not latch onto the entire major premise of chiropractic is likened to someone buying a complex computer system with all of the extra bells and whistles and then only using it as a typewriter. The obvious potential for that computer is being wasted.
Chiropractic needs to be understood from the perpective of science and philosophy. The science being that the brian, spinal cord and spinal nerves control the function of every cell, tissue, organ, gland and system in the body and any interference in nerve impulses will effect function in the body. Health is directly related to function, to be healthy everything in the body must function properly. Spinal subluxations impinge spinal nerves and disrupt the brain's ability to communcate with the body, negatively influencing function, performance, health and potential. Thus the philosophy of chiropractic, regular spinal corrections preserve neural integrity, restoring and maintaining nerve impulses, allowing you to be all you can be, maximizing your health and potential. Everybody is better off without subluxations. This includes you, your spouse, partner, family members and most importantly your children. Chiropractic, as health care, not pain relief, should be started early in life and continued for life. Life, as in expression of and naturally the longevity of your life.
HEALTH TIP OF THE MONTH: Almonds maintain healthy blood fat levels, strengthen the cardiovacular system, enhance antibody production and help protect against cancer. Rich in protein, 75% more protein than eggs and have healthy amounts of vital vitamins and minerals. High in calcium compared to other nuts. They are an excellent building food for people who are underweight. Remember to avoid this nut if you are allergic to nuts.

MOVIE REVIEWS: As you can tell, guess where I have been spending my free time? The movies in Ireland run about 5-6 months behind the states, which was good for me becasue I didn't get to see any movies when I was home.
What Has Dr. J. Been Up To? I have been back in Ireland 4 full weeks now. I pretty much have been working, going to the fitness center and cooking meals. Other than the 3 movies I went to, haven't done too much. Last weekend, the Chiropractic Association of Ireland Meeting was in scenic Mullingar in County West Meath. Beautiful area with lots of lakes and a very active village. Looks like a great place to vacation. Known for its fresh water fishing. Last Friday, I went to the local professional rugby game, the Leinster Lions. Fun game, but we lost. The Six Nations Rugby competition is underway. Last Sunday, Ireland hosted Wales. The Welsh are a great fun loving people, about 30,000 game over to support their team and partake in Dublin's best pubs. It was great atmosphere. The Welsh lost, yet that didn't effect the post match celebrations. Ireland play the World Champion England squad next Saturday, Can't wait.
That's all for this month, any comments or questions are appreciated.
