How Do Chiropractors Find Subluxations?
Chiropractic is a science, philosophy and
art.
The philosophy of
chiropractic is based on the inner or innate intelligence of the body.
The body is a self healing and regulating organism, therefore true health
comes from within the body not from outside the body. The
Chiropractic philosophy holds true that the body is the best available healer.
The Science of Chiropractic is
based on the damaging and devastating effects the vertebral subluxation has on
human health and performance. The subluxation has been researched
through modern science and has been shown to have detrimental effects on the
nervous system, the muscular system and the osseous (bone) system.
Through modern science, chiropractors are able to measure the effects of the
vertebral subluxation and show patients how subluxations damage health.
The Tools For Detection Of Vertebral
Subluxation
Modern and
progressive chiropractors use the Subluxation Station computerized analytical
device for measuring the effects of the subluxation complex. This
analysis consists of the following:
Surface Electromyography (SEMG):
SEMG measures abnormal muscle function. The results of this test
demonstrates abnormal spinal muscle contraction and abnormal spinal muscle
asymmetry, important aspects of the vertebral subluxation complex.
Thermography (Thermal Scanning):
Thermography
measures the function of the autonomic nervous system. The autonomic
nervous system controls the function of all the organs and systems in the
body. If the autonomic system is not functioning properly, the body is
not as healthy as it could be. Subluxations place stress on the
autonomic nerves of the spine, disrupting nerve flow.
Other Testing:
At times, chiropractors may use
other testing to help locate vertebral subluxations and subluxation damage.
These tests include, but are not limited to X-ray, MRI, Digital Inclinometry,
Algometry, Motion Palpation, Spinal Reflex Analysis, Spinal Challenges and
Muscle Testing.
